1992 Corolla Started Then Died - Please Help

#1
my corolla had sit awhile before i got it i replaced front brakes, fuel filter, spark plugs, air filter, plug wires and distributor cap, and throttle positioning sensor. I was driving it home after work when it started to stutter and then quit. So i got another distributor because i thought the igniter was bad. I also cleaned out the cat because it was almost plugged. It started but was barely running. I adjusted the timing by moving the distributor the whole way to one side and it ran better but if i would give it throttle it would die. I adjusted the throttle positioning sensor the whole way in and it was better. I drove it for 25 minutes to school but before i got there it started to stutter then died and now won't even try to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a timing light and time the distributor properly, and make sure the throttle position sensor is adjusted properly as well. If you have to run these out of spec, then you are only masking the actual problem instead of fixing it.

How long did the car sit for? Was the fuel drained out of the system while the car was parked?
