1988 Corolla Starting Issues

1988 Corolla
Having trouble starting - power getting to the starter motor but will not turn over. Any ideas very welcome!!

Either the battery is weak, the starter has reached the end of its life, or both. Test, diagnose to find out which. Auto parts stores like Advance Auto Parts will test the battery and starter for you for free.

How do you know electricity is getting to the starter? `

Thanks a lot! I'm assuming there's power getting to the starter as there's a definite click when I turn the key... Trouble is, I know bugger all about engines!!
