09 transmission fluid and filter change

Replacing them wouldn't hurt. Toyota says that the ATF is a long life fluid under normal driving conditions but for peace of mine, you can change the ATF at 80-120,000 miles and every 30-50k miles afterwards. However, I'd recommend doing a drain and fill instead of a flush though. I've drained and filled my ATF every 2 years after I hit 75,000 miles and my transmission shifts fine even with the original transmission filter.

Thank you for the info, I will proceed with the draining and filling, right now is a little low but is not burnt and the color is slightly dark brown.
By the way do you know how much oil will it need when is reading at the cold mark with the engine warm and running?

When I do my drain & fill it takes slightly more than 3 quarts. Measure what you drain out and replace with that amount. Since you are slightly low I would top it off after the procedure. I did my first service at about 95K miles, it was red on the dip stick but brown when I drained it. Because of that I did another drain & fill about 1k miles later. Since then I do it every 25k max, fluid is nice & red. No transmission issues to date and almost 178k miles on the car.
