that's a very ricer thing to do. of course it's your car , but not all mods are good ideas. in my book, if it's not practical then it's a waste of time and money. i would invest my money into modding the insides of a car then the outside of it. here's a fun video :D

i would try to keep the it an N/A engine since turbo charged engines require more up keeping than a normal one. but yeah, turbo would add alot and maybe cheaper option than an engine swap. the other suggestions are also good. another thing would be a fuel additive.

here's a simple thing that anyone can do to their car, change your fuel filter. no one ever thinks of this one. if your car is over 30k then you can benefit alot from a new filter. cleaner fuel means better gas mileage and even more so, a very healthy engine.
