Suspension questions

#1
Hey guys, new to the forum and new to Corolla ownership. I just recently purchased a 2016 S Special Edition in black. I've been reading through some things on here, yet I did not see a clear, definitive answer to this question. (I apologize if I simply missed it)

If I were to purchase coilovers for my car, is the rear camber adjustable enough to return it to factory specs without the use of any extra parts? I had planned on getting coilovers with adjustable camber plates for the front.

Thanks for all your help!

From what I understand, you will not need to get the rear adjusted. But at least have it checked.
For some reason I’m thinking that with coilovers, anytime you make an adjustment, it’s going to throw it off some.
But then again, I’m not an arrogant Toyota technician either. Lol

The rear end isn't a live axle (i.e. a truck) so lowering the vehicle will definitely change the camber. I know on my other car, I needed aftermarket rear upper control arms to be able to adjust the camber back to factory specs with it sitting as low as it does.

Chris, do you have camber bolts or anything else to keep the camber in check? IF not has it been affected a whole lot with TRD lowering springs? Do you plan on installing anything to return camber to it's original setting?

Nope, just springs. Been keeping a close eye on any tread wear, so far so good. But I’ve only driven a couple thousand since installed.
The “mechanic” that installed the springs was impressed that nothing appeared to be off.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t had my alignment checked yet. At least not professionally. I have a tool that I bought from Amazon that I used.
Everything is still “level”, so I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I’ll have them check it when I go to the dyno in a couple of weeks.
Yes, I said dyno!
I finally got around to getting this set up. Had an appointment for Monday but I can’t get out of work, so the next available Saturday, I’m in!

Good to hear that Chris, since its a relatively mild drop copared to other lowering springs I guess it'll be alright, may need to check your alignment. My dealership just upgraded their building, basically built a brand new facility where after you pull in, they install the alignment clamps on each wheel on every car that pulls in. There is a monitor in front and they check if you need alignment on the fly. I had my oil changed recently and mine was fine, didn't need it.

Did you say Dyno? shoot, I'm curious to see the results. Do share!

Yeah I know... a mechanic. I at least trust the shop up the street for an alignment. Plus it’s computerized.
