Had to post this...

Haha, nice! Went through it like it was nothing. Reminds me of foot of snow in Chicago and me wilding out with winter tires on fronts only and keeping up with suvs. Left over urge I get from time to time after driving a 4x4 4Runner for 15 years.:)

great pic! hahaha yeah my corolla is my only car so therefore it ends up being my daily driver / "sports car" / adventure vehicle. yeah.. this car's seen some sh*t. Corollas are invincible though man! I've taken it through snow, high speed on dirt roads, a little bit of desert off road, canyon carving, and worst of all, daily driving through an industrial area. I can't tell you how much tar residue and industrial gunk I remove from the car every time I wash her weekly.

I believe that! I've owned a few vehicles in my 36 years on this earth so that makes it 20 years of driving, damn. Most toyotas but started with civic then accord. Had a 03
Corolla 4Runner and now back to this 2015 Corolla. One thing I've noticed is the build quality is better from previous gens no doubt. It's engineered to be simple yet practical and very affordable when it comes to maintenance. I like that especially since I drive a whole lot and putting 25k miles or more a year it only makes sense to own one. There are mainly two variables that make this generation different from previous: cvt and lots more electronics on my trim at least. I'm pretty sure it'll be alright though.

Yeah the CVT is DEFINITELY the weakest link in the chain of our car. I don't want a manual for daily driving but I hate this CVT. Wish I just had a standard auto trans. Every time I push the car in the beautiful southern california canyons here I feel the CVT hating me. I feel like I'm about to blow it up. And i'm not pushing too hard either I mean its a damn corolla with no real performance upgrades (just cat back exhaust and intake) lmao. thats probably a max of 5hp increase :(

On the other hand it is smooth as silk when you're just driving and don't strain it too much. I like the constant acceleration with no shift points when I just cruise. As far as performance you're right but I knew that going in so all good. If I want to go fast I hop on my cbr600rr. Another reason why I got this corolla with cvt is to make sure I don't get tempted to do stupid sh*t. This way im safer along with my passengers and everyone around me as well.

Yeah thats true lol. When I got this car I didn't care at all about performance or modifying my car. I was just one of those "normal" people. Then I got into it haha. I got this car for the fantastic safety ratings it has and it's great fuel economy (oh well) and I thought it looked great.

I can attest to the fact that Corolla's WILL float! I went through a puddle the first year I had this car, luckily I had enough momentum that I floated safely across!
I know I was floating when the RPM's went to the rev limit while driving 35 mph!
This puddle was deep enough that my neighbor, who has CAI, sucked up enough water to kill his engine.

Damn Chris, I'm assuming you didn't have your CAI back then, see that's the risk you're running with one of those. Having a stock set up makes it nearly impossible to suck in water, you would have to dip the entire front up to the windshield.
Think about this, now that you have much wider tires you have to be careful even more when going over water since it's much more prone to hydroplaning due to larger tire area. Also not all that good in snow either :) Not trying to preach just a fact but your ride looks dope with the mods and if you guys don't get a whole lot of rain/snow then you got nothing to worry about. Us in Chicago, we get plenty of both, trust me.

No, definitely didn't have the CAI back then! Otherwise it would have acted like a shop vac!!
I have summer tires to boot. So you won't see me out in the rain unless I get caught unexpectedly. And no snow... period.
I have this huge Ford van for work and we have a Highlander for family stuff and bad weather. So the Corolla is only really driven on the weekends and in good weather.
But I feel for the guys driving these everyday.
Yeah, our winters can be brutal here too. 1/2" of snow shuts this place down!!
Hahahahahaha
