Horsepower talk

#1
So I was doing some research around on different ways, nothing too crazy like engine swapping, but decent ways to increase some horsepower. I saw/found out that Scion xD parts engine wise at least can be changed out depending on if you CVT or not.

Just wondering if anyone has came across this or thought about it.

That's interesting, but what's in the xD that would be of use on the Corolla?

Okay so if you want more power the only way you'll get a major increase is with a lot of money. I have done my research and am saving up to add more horsepower myself. What I have found is a company that rebuilds lotus Elise engines and since our Rollas have the same one as the 2011 (2ZR-FE) it will be great. Only problem is it costs about 3-5k. Buuuuut I really didn't want to stop there so I looked some more. Talked to many different supercharger companies and couldn't find one where I could buy. So I talked to my friends at Jackson Racing about their superchargers and maybe making a kit since theirs aren't too big. (Smaller than a procharger!). They told me they won't make a kit but they could sell me the supercharger then all I would have to do if fabricate my own pipes. That's pretty easy stuff just time consuming. But I have come across the same problem everywhere I go. The damn ECU. The ECU on any Toyota is "locked" meaning you have to get some brilliant coder that can uncode if so I can get in there and do my thing. So right now I am trying to find a company that can do it. Once the ECU can be cracked then we're golden

Yeah, there's different parts that are compatible with the Scion xD that may be aftermarket that I'm pretty sure work alongside the Rolla engine as well like what volks said above. So maybe I may look into seeing if I order a part for it, if it fits or not.

Was that Monkey Wrench Racing by chance? Also, when you find out about the ECU, please share. Aside from the cash, that's where I'm stuck also. o_O
