Gas cap won't click

hey guys, newbie driver here. My gas cap wont click, but when i close it it tightens. Do i hahe to replace my gas cap?

i never knew it clicked either....you have to twit it with much force than you think...i would try using more force

I never paid attention to mine. I snug it up but I don`t think it`s clicking. I`m going to have to check that out on my next fill-up.

the click is jut to let you know it is closed properly. when gas cap not closed tight it will cause a check engine light. I think the click is just stupid proof. As long as the threads aren't crossed and the cap is tight it should be fine.

Checked mine last night. 2015 S. And it does click to prove closed. From user manual page 196

"After refueling, turn the fuel tank
cap until you hear a click. Once
the cap is released, it will turn
slightly in the opposite direction."

Mine use to have to be real tight to click but it no longer clicks. I don't like that, but it doesnt bother me enough to do anything about it.

Well you got my gears turning with the gas cap so I contacted the dealership where I purchased it and they will replace it, no problem, under warranty they said. Should take less than 30 min.

the click can be felt at the end of the turn. not like my other car where it is like those medicine bottles Lol.
