New Member with a new Corolla S Premium

Hey guys I thought I'd sign up and introduce myself after reading up on this forum for a few days. I owned a Volvo C30 which was burned to the ground on August 1st by someone. I lost about $1,200 worth of stuff inside of the car that the insurance wouldn't pay for. My girlfriend forced me to start a gofundme for anyone who'd like to contribute. I had only owned that car for literally 1 year. After my insurance paid off the loan, I wanted another Volvo C30 until my uncle and parents convinced me to get the Corolla. After coming close to signing the paperwork on another C30, I figured I'd give the Corolla one last test drive. I drove the S Premium model and loved everything about it. I mean it's not as fast as my C30 but I guess I'll get over it sooner or later. So as of last Thursday (8/20), I signed the papers to my new Corolla S Premium. It has every single option available and I love it so far. I guess it's more of a practical car for someone like me. I already ordered LED for the fog lights, interior, as well as the license plate lol. Anyways, I'll share some photos of the fire incident as well as the new car.

I guess I can't post my gofundme until I have posted 3 times. I guess I'll post it later then.

Dam that sucks I'm sorry about your Volvo ... You will like the corolla but you won't like the CVT on it but one gets over it quickly lol like me

I can already tell the CVT and I won't get along hahaha. It's just really different. The Volvo took little to no effort climbing hills and overtaking cars. This car tends to struggle. But hey I can't complain when I'm getting 37-40mpg lmao

I have to say I enjoy driving it. Even though I was against using the paddle shifters, I tried them out for the first time yesterday and I was having fun haha. The steering is the only thing that I don't find fun. I constantly find myself trying to keep the car straight. Also, I noticed it gets pushed around in the wind quite easily. I love the navigation and the button thing you push on the door was a big plus for me. I imagine they don't do Corolla meets? I never got to go to the Volvo meet last year :\

& I find the Corolla a sports/family car ... Because it doesn't go fast so family car hahaha but I'm not sure if they do Corolla meets and if they do I'm in it because I want to see the after market mods they've installed hahahaha

Yeah it's definitely a family car lol. Meh sport mode isn't too shabby. And on the door I have this keyless option where I tap next to the door handle with my finger and it locks my car. And by reaching for my handle, it unlocks my car automatically. I freaking love that feature! And sorry for the late reply. Been busy with work and school

That Volvo thing sucks, but now you're in a Toyota! Keyless entry is definitely a huge feature. I don't think most people realize some of these Corolla models come higher equipped than base model BMW and Mercedes-Benz vehicles for a fraction of the price. Can't beat it. And when these cars get old you won't need a rocket scientist to work on it. Just some ramps for oil changes, etc.

I don't like CVT's. I've probably driven one, I just hate all Automatics. Manual transmission all the way
