Seat Covers Necessary?

Are seat covers really necessary? Does anyone notice any excessive wear on their seat due to sliding into the seats or anything?

Yup seat covers are necessary especially if you film porn in the backseat and don't want any jizz on the factory seats =]

Haven't notice excessive wear.
Would anyway use seat cover onlyt if and after wear would become unbearable.
I want to enjoy my car as is and don't care about protecting it for the next owner (or a few more bucks in resale value).

My old Corolla 2009 had fabric seats and they got dirty so fast. Any piece of lint stuck there. I would say yes to covers if that bothers you. I will never have fabric seats again. My. 2014 Corolla S has leather and I love it.

If you don't like or don't want to use seat covers, a place like Ziebart or a local detailing shop can fabric guard the seats for you. May not be cheap, but they will not stain as easily.
