2009 Toyota Corolla Blower Motor Problems

#1
Hey Guys new member hopefully you can help me out. I have a 2009 Toyota corolla. I was out driving it yesterday and all the sudden the vents stopped blowing air. The car didn't make a noise or anything. If I play with the climate control levers it wouldn't work still, just made a click sound when turned from off to on. I left it alone for 10 min while I drove. Started messing with the climate control then all the sudden it worked again. Is this a problem you all have experienced?? It didn't matter whether I had it in high or low speed hot or cold. while driving home last night it quit again. I played with it and it started working. When it works all is fine all speeds are there ect. I have been told it's ether the blower motor resistor the blower motor or the switch. The motor makes no noises at all. The car is out of warranty and I'am on a very limited budget. Please help. Thanks for all your input. Jason

I installed a new 4 seasons blower motor oct 2013. After it doing the same thing 2-3 times, It would start running after 30 min. One day it stopped completely and never restarted. After installing the new blower motor it's been fine ever since..........
That's great to hear Jason! Electrical problems can be a real pain in the katoosh, that's for sure.

With the new blower motor you installed, did you purchase a Toyota blower motor or aftermarket?

Check around the forum here and I think you'll find a lot of fun new additions, like the Video of the Day thread, of the Song of the Day thread, tons of tech videos to help you with your Corolla, etc.

The blower motor I purchased was an aftermarket unit. Its 4 seasons brand. It had great reviews, and it carries a lifetime warranty. Iam kind of turned off by toyota's blower motor after it gave up the ghost within 5 years of me owning the car. I think the windings gave out. Now if I have any other problems blower motor related I can swap out for a new one under warranty. The 4 seasons one was around 90 bucks.

I saw an ad in the newspaper classifieds about 10 years back. '71 Dodge Challenger, plum crazy, white interior, 440 six-pack, $2,500. The owner died and the wife had no idea what she had. I went to her house at 7:00 a.m. to look at the car, and it was gone. Someone woke her up at 5:30 to buy it. Damnit!
