A manual isn't going to give you a power increase maybe better response but that about it. That's a lot of work to and would recommend only if you have the proper equipment and tools.
Also I would say just buy a manual, for a 93 you would spend less if you buy a manual one than install a manual into your current one. Also it will bring the value of your vehicle down with a manual. Just some things to consider.
