Welp, I spent $540 in gas in january for my 94 Grand cherokee v8 (gets around 15 mpg hwy) and I said to myself "Fu** this."
I went to the dealership today and talked to a salesman. I ended up finding the coolest salesman I've ever met. We drove around for a few minutes and found a Corolla in my price range. I wanted a manual but, when you're ballin' on a budget, you get what you get. 06 Corolla, Base model, Automagic, 113k Miles. The only power amenity in the whole car is power mirrors.
They had it listed for $9,999. Eeeeeeek.
I spoke to the Asst. Sales Manager and talked him down to $7,999. I then talked them up on my 20 year old jeep with 198k on it to $800 for the trade in.
Then I told them that I'd return in a few days with my father (cosigner, I'm 18) and that we'd purchase it then if it was still on the lot. The Asst. Sales Manager goes "Why wait? Why not just drive up there right now, our gas?" So, I sent my Dad a ring. Next thing you know the Salesman and I are driving 1 1/2 hours each way to meet my father about half way at a starbucks to sign the paperwork. It's 11:10 and I just got home.
It's a fun little car to drive though. I'm used to v8s.
