over reving all the time?

our 2007 colour collection is playing up.

was driving for 2hours, motorway most of the journey. at a roundabout the rpm never dropped but rose. from then on even from cold start she revs at like full rpm 4kish.

RAC came out. got new MAF sensor and wanted 175gbp for it - thank god it did not work. Guy disconnects idle valve and problem appears to have gone accept its idling at junctions around 2k.

any suggestions would be great.

Mine revs high and bounces between 1200 and 2200 on cold starts until the engine is completely warm. From what I've read, a bad intake manifold gasket is a common problem with the 9th and 10th gen Corollas. The gasket shrinks and seals improperly when cold, allowing unmetered air to enter the manifold until it warms and seals properly. I'm convinced that this is the cause of my problem, so I'm gonna replace mine soon.
