Hey, I'm new to this site. I hope to learn a lot by being a part of this network of corolla fans/drivers. I drive a black, 2003 Toyota Corolla, Sport Edition, Automatic (I know, lame).

Automatics are great and I've read the technology in modern automatic transmissions now even provides superior fuel economy to a standard transmission.

I used to think automatics were lame too...until I had to commute a long ways. Stop and go traffic around Washington DC can be brutal!

Now, all I would buy as a daily driver would be an automatic. Makes me feel like I'm old! Now, if I ever bought a "play" car, that would be manual...no doubt. But I'm a long way away from being able to have another car!
