Help With My 1996 Geo Prizm

#1
Hey guys. I am new to these forums. I found them on Google when I was searching for diagrams for my car. Okay I will try to make my story quick and painless. So I am really dumb when it comes to cars. I have a 1996 Geo Prizm (4DR) and I had a leak in my gas tank. I had a friend of a friend help me replace the gas tank with one I had purchased. Well after it was done, there was still a small leak under the car. The dude said something had stripped when he put the gas line back together and that it was an easy/cheap fix but he would come back the next day and do it because it was real late and no auto parts stores were open. Well the next day came and he ended up getting locked up and I got stuck with this mess. I took two pictures and circled the area where it is leaking. What I need to know is what piece I need to fix this leak? I went to Napa and showed them the pictures and the guys were dumbfounded. Told me that they recommended this fuel line repair kit that had a piece of fuel line in it and a gold metal connector piece that something screwed in at both ends but they said they did not know for sure by looking at the pictures I took. I can take more but I figured I would come to one of these forums and see if anyone could offer up some extra information on what piece I need to fix this leak and if someone knows of a Youtube video out there that may help me understand what this piece is and how to replace it? Any information would he very helpful at this point. Thanks for reading and I appreciate any help I do get!

The pictures are fuzzy, but those types of things you have to get at the dealership. Auto parts stores won't carry model-specific steel fuel lines. Make sure you keep a fire extinguisher on you if you attempt to tackle it yourself.
