Electrical Problem. Please help!

#1
Recently my car stereo died on me. All I heard was a 'pop' sound and then the stereo cut off and refused to turn on. I figured it was a dead fuse, so I went and got myself a replacement.

Seeing as though I installed the stereo myself, I went on to dismount the center panel and remove the deck itself. As soon as I pulled it out, the light inside my car went dead, also the light that signals a door is open on the dash and the beeping noise when a door is open with the key in the ignition went dead.

I noticed that a ground wire in the back of the deck, the electrical tape fell off and the wire was exposed, so I figured the ground wire touched the frame when I pulled the deck out and did something to make the lights etc to go dead.

Now I'm noticing that my Speedometer, rpm, gas and temp needles are going nuts, moving and etc without ignition.

WHAT TO DO? I'm thinking a fuse in the fuse box under the hood is shot, but want 3rd party advice. Will be taking the car to the auto electrician on monday.

Edited: Its a Corolla 2002 NZE121 Model
