Dash Lights and Tail Lights Always On, HELP!

#1
Hi, I have a 1995 toyota corolla. The dash lights didn't work for a long time until today when i realized the tail light fuse was blown. My cluster dimmer was also burnt up, so i bypassed that. But I still had no dash lights. I then pulled my aftermarket stereo out and cut the stereo light dimmer wires, separated them, and taped them. I then got dash lights and tail lights but my stereo wasnt working. So i tested the two stereo light dimmer wires. One had power and one didnt, so i thought if i ran a wire from the fuse box straight to that wire, my stereo would work. But i was wrong, i actually started a small electrical fire. The wire i ran melt the sheathing of the wire from the fuse box back to the stereo. Now I have a bigger problem. The dash lights and tail lights are on all the time now, even when the key is off. The only way to get them to turn off is to pull the fuse. I really need to get this problem fixed, ASAP. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I'm going to be as gentle as possible.

You're not qualified to work on electrical and almost started a fire in the process. If you have dimmer switches that are burned up and now have wires melting, I would recommend taking the car to a technician and letting them fix the wiring.

The dimmer switch was already burnt up. I tested the continuity and it had none. That was before I tried all of this. Now addressing the electrical fire. Today, I found that my dome light fuse was blown, so i replaced it and my stereo turned on for the first time in days. So i obviously have wires melted somewhere or a relay is really messed up.
