Clicking noise please help diagnose

Hello all. My son who is a commuting college student drives a 03 Toyota Corolla. Yesterday he tells me it is making a funny noise and 1st thing in the morning it also revved up to 4rpm barely gassing it. Is it the valve lifters or something else please? Any help is much appreciated!

You don't state how many miles, but that doesn't sound good. Is the oil level full? I believe the valve adjustment should be checked at around 100K miles. Check your owners manual to be sure. Hard to diagnose with a video. Too many possibilities.

I would check the header's head shield, make sure it has not lose.

It almost sound like one of injection coil is about to go out..
