Bluetooth OBD-II Scanner

I had it on my Matrix and moved it into my Corolla when I traded the Matrix in. I paid $150 for it but Amazon has it on sale for $100.

I use this with Torque Pro for Android. It will scan and clear codes, you can show any combination of gauges that you want (you can even program your own), make custom overlays, and there is a plug-in that will take video and overlay gauges of your choosing on the video for track days. There is also a smog readiness feature that will show if your car has any pending codes or sensors that are not ready to report for smog, and it will show your misfire count as well. 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, everything. It's a neat tool.

Amazon does have cheaper ones, but they typically have slow polling rates (and will lag badly if you have a lot of gauges going on at once) and may not work on all vehicles. I haven't ran into a vehicle that this one hasn't worked for yet.

Plus, it's like always carrying an OBD-II scanner in your car so it is pretty neat. I just keep mine plugged in since it has a power-save feature and stays away from direct sunlight where it is mounted.

Awwww man. Sucks. When I traded in my Focus for the Matrix I forgot a couple knives in my center console, but I went back the next day and a salesman unlocked the door for me so I could get them out.

Tachyon Tools

When it comes to Toyota specific OBD2 scan tools, these Tachyon guys are the best

http://www.tachyontechtools.com/?product=obdii-bluetooth-t100-bt-toyota/

they use Toyota specific protocols, and get fuel economy, gear position, current gear .. and so many parameters.

It has this stand-alone features, where it automatically monitor data and trip info.

It also has an Android app which is awesome!

There it has this map, which shows how the fuel economy is varying when you drive.

But it is bit expensive $37.97 (compared to cheap ELM) but you get all software and apps along with that with no extra cost!
