I just bought a 96 corolla for my teenage daughter (it a fixer upper but runs great). We started driving this car and after a couple of days it up and quit while driving so I go to check it out and theres no power to several things including the fuel pump. Decided to go get a chain and tow it but when i returned it started up so i drove it home and it ran another day then crapped out for good. I replaced the circuit opening relay behind the stereo with no change. I have power from the switch but no power to the circuit opening relay which means no power to several things most important the fuel pump. I have racked my brain on this one and am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

Was there any similar common condition during both events?? Rain, temp, even something as weird as parking pitch angle? Depending on where you live too, it could be ground related. I hate to even bring it up because tracing down grounds SUUUUUCKS, but bad grounds or broken wires in general can manifest problems like you're describing. If you're in a harsher area weather wise, it's possible with a car that's older than the driver! LoL

Thanks for the reply and since you mention it. There were no similarities but the windsheild washer motor didnt work and I discovered it wasnt grounded and so I jumped a ground to it to make it work. Since my last post I discovered that one of the wiring harness plugs to the breaker box is grounded where it should have power its also the one supplying the power to everything I mentioned in my 1st post so Im thinking a wire has grounded out and I mayhave a grounding issue aa well. It hass become the topic of my nightmares lol still troubleshooting.
