So heres the story. I have 97 with 4afe and 5 speed. I recently lost 3rd and 2nd is finnicky already. Id like to swap trans but, the 92 and prior seem to have a longer first gear which i would like, seeing as im under 4k rpm shifting and shes out of her power band.
This car is my daily driver so no extensive trans swaps or extremely costly. I just need to know if the trans from a 7afe will be a direct swap, or a 5 speed from an older 4afe car is the same.
Any and all help is apprecriated, and as stated this is my daily so i have the weekend to get it done, which means no im not swapping the motor or doing a frankenstein swap. I just want a good trans preferably with better ratios.
