2017 XSE aftermarket remote start removal ???

#1
Long story, quick question:

I bought this back in July, has 47,000 miles on it, I'm the second owner. It had an aftermarket Automate remote start that someone installed in it. The dealer's usual aftermarket installer said they did not put it in.
It worked when I bought the car, then when it got cold, pressing the remote would lock/unlock doors and flash the lights but not start.
I started reading about these and it seems they can be problematic.

I started looking at the unit in the car- the 'brain' and the antennae with valet/program button was just shoved up behind the dash instead of the antennae being routed up the A-piller. No hood pin installed.

I decided to remove it. I unplugged and removed the brain and antennae, and cut the wires running off them that were obvious ground and to the ignition.

Whoever installed it tapped into the big white power wire to the car that is plugged in under the dash and goes through the firewall. They had soldered into it, so I ended up leaving the harness for the brain for now and coiled it up behind the dash. There were 3 inline fuses on the harness, so I pulled those.

Before I cut each wire, I tested the ignition to be sure the car would start. Everything seemed to be ok and working fine until I noticed this morning that my Daytime Running Lights are not working in DRL mode.
They light up when the parking lights come on, as normal, but no DRL functionality.

Does anyone have any idea of what I should look for here?

Here's where they spliced into the car's power:

These pink taps are where they connected to lights and locks, I assume- I left these because they cut a couple of the factory wires and connected them to the remote start harness.

Heres the remote start harness:

Ok, so it's worse than I thought. My Auto-Sensing headlights and Auto-Sensing Hi-Beams don't work either, so clearly there's a problem with the headlight system, or a wire or wires...

Lights function as normal with the stalk switch except for the DRLs.

ANY HELP APPRECIATED!!!
