2009 Corolla - Rattle

#1
I noticed a few weeks back that there was a slight rattle coming from the pulley/alternator area when I started the car and began idling after 30 seconds. The rattling continues while driving but only while pressing the accelerator and the rattle actually speeds up while pressing. Once I let off the accelerator it stops but continues once idling and/or accelerating. Any ideas?

Turn the engine on, pop the hood, and listen around. You can use a clean vacuum line to your ear and probe around the area to find the suspect ... just be very, very cautious of the drive belt.

a wooden pole does a mighty fine job.

If it is a tensioner that is notdoing its job, you'll want to get this corrected, before the serpentine belt of belt gives way oneday .
