2000 Prizm oil burner 1zzfe

Long time follower fortunate enough to drive a reliable 8th gen I don't have to spend much time here.
I had a 98 Prizm LSI 236k that was finally totaled in a accident.
I just purchased a 2000 Prizm 3 speed 134k from a private party original owner.
I brought my snap on scanner with me when I test drove it as she said the CEL was on. One code P1025. And the AC didn't work. I've since replaced the dryer and new compressor. engine Oil was full and looked normal.

I recently went on a 200 mile trip at highway speeds. She drank about a quart of oil in this 200 miles.
I am mechanically inclined reviewed the sticky atop the page watched the YouTube video. Have a FSM set from my 1998 prizm.
I have done a compression test operating temp engine numbers as follows 1 bump then 5 more. However didn't unplug the injectors as not sure it was necessary. I've seen so many mixed ways of doing it I plan to do it again and post the numbers with the help of someone on the proper way.

The car just has no getup and go. even worse with the AC on. pedal to the floor it just leisurely coast up to speed like I've got it at half throttle. The car runs, drives, idles. smoke is unseen. Ive changed the PCV valve. NGK iridium plugs were extremely caked in white powder enough to break off small bits. Believe its a sign of oil burnt. The valve cover gasket leaks a little but never leaves a drop on the ground. So I'm figuring it's a burner.
Thanks in advance

just off the top check your ignition coils. The more miles and heat the more they are susceptible to malfunctioning or misfiring. I had the same lagging issue and it turned out it was coil number 4 on it's way out. replaced it and she's running like a champ! If you search youtube you'll find several videos on how to test the ignition coil
