1997 Corolla - Could Use A Little Help

I have a 97 corolla with a 1.8 automatic CE edition with 195.640 on it can someone tell me how many 02 sensors it has I have a check engine light on and when my friend ran a scan tool on it. It brought up 02 sensor 1&2 I didn't get a chance to pull the code any advice would be a help where I am new here and the car is new to me Ty in advance.

As fishy said, just two.

The upstream HO2S is between the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter and handles air/fuel mixing.

The downstream HO2S is between the catalytic converter and the muffler, and is strictly used for checking catalyst efficiency.

Boxer 4, V6, or V8 engines will typically have 4 HO2S ... I4 or I6 engines will typically just have 2.
