1996 Corolla DX Instrument Cluster Swap

#1
96 corolla DX Trip gage not working so will go to junk yard for replacement before I try to repair existing gears. now I'm wondering if the electrical harness will support the cluster with a tach. original has speedometer only but would like tach if it fits harness and just needs sensor.

This car was my daughters she bought it new when she started college. gave it to me 6 months ago. I have been playing with it and replacing parts that are weak or a problem, radiator, hoses cap, and thermostat because it was losing coolant slowly, then plugs, wires, cap and rotor as it misfired at idle. I figure knowing I have new parts is worth the time needed if I change one part at a time and don't get the problem fixed the first time as long as parts are cheap enough.

Tachometer reads off the crankshaft position sensor on modern cars. I'm not sure if they have the same harness (tach versus non-tach), but you have the sensor regardless.

Thanks for the reply and welcome. may get one with tach if it has same speedo as I can just trade out speedometer head if I have to. I have repaired a few BMW speedometers in the past (86 325E) but easier to swap clusters.
