1993 Corolla - Seat Belt Locking Up

I have a 1993 corolla. The passenger side seat belt sticks a lot, sometimes it will work, most times it won't. When i have a passenger get in, they try to pull the belt to put it on but it only goes about an inch or so and locks up and then can't get it anymore. I read the manual and you're supposed to pull it tight and then release to reset it. Sometimes that works but sometimes it won't. Anyone have suggestions on what might be going on and some options on what to do?

Yeah that's kind of what i was figuring. I figured it might just be over used and that's why its malfunctioning. Any idea about how much it would be to get one from a junkyard? Thanks again.

Are not seat belt life time warranty?

I'm not sure about the seatbelts being lifetime warranty. The car/seatbelts are 21 years old. I figure they're pretty worn mechanically.

You could try a silicone spray on it and see if that would help free up the seat belt retracting mechanism.

graphite for locks and metal parts..

Graphite can leave nasty stains on clothes when the seat belt is used.

Silicone wont cause that problem.
