09 Corolla LE issue is killing our "new car" vibe, please help!

#1
Hello all!

So, my wife is the proud owner of her first new (new to her) car: a 2009 Corolla LE (~55k miles). However, the joy was short lived. A couple'a days after we bought it, we're riding down the interstate and her check engine light comes on. She said she lost the ability to accelerate, popped hazards, and pulled over. She turned the car off, waited a bit, and cranked it right back up. We took it to a nearby place that scans codes for free. We got:

2103 - Throttle actuator control motor circuit high

Since the car is under their warranty, we took it back to the dealership. She did drive the car for another day or so, since she absolutely had to. Said the engine light went away, but it happened again and the light came back on. So, to the dealership it went. Took about a week to get the part in they replaced (so sorry, trying to find out from her what they actually did/replaced). We got the car back yesterday. She was happy.

She left for work this morning, and called me not even 2miles away from home. It happened again. In total, it happened 3 times this morning, on her way to work. So, we're taking it back to the dealership, again.

My question to you lovely people is: does this issue sound familiar/typical? Are there any possible "typical" areas we should tell the dealership to pay attention to when they take it in this time? Were there any TSBs that might be the source of this issue?

It's under warranty, so they're going to fix this. It's more that we don't want this to keep happening. Get the car back, breaks, take it back, etc. She jokes that she's had a rental car longer than her actual car. Joking aside though, several mechanic friends have assured her a Corolla is a damn good, dependable, long-lasting car, and she's getting worried about her decision.

Any advice/tips/help would be greatly appreciated.
