Completely agree. I CPO means nothing to me. I just wanted somewhat of a warranty as this was a former rental car.

If you drive a lot, then you should plan on keeping your Corolla for a long time. For grins, I took my 2014 Corolla with 68K miles in to a Toyota dealer to see what they would appraise my car at. Keep in mind, I bought mine as a certified pre-owned in January of 2015 for $14,400 with 34K miles...

About $100. Not bad considering full synthetic oil changes are like $80 at Valvoline.

    CVT Maintenance

Finally got my transmission fluid changed at 60K miles now. I spoke with one of the service advisers. I mentioned the lifetime fluid, and he said that the fluid should still be changed at every 60k or 90k miles. Upon reading some memos, he said that lifetime fluid was merely to keep the cost of...

    Corolla abuse threshold

I will say, for as aggressive as I drive, I still get 37 to 40 MPG. (All highway) I also plan on keeping the car for another 5 to 6 years, so I think it will last at least that long.

    Corolla abuse threshold

True. I'll try to drive less aggressively. I am not worried about heat. The engine temp gauge always shows normal and the leaner an engine runs, the hotter it gets. When you floor it, it really sucks down the gas, so it's not running very lean.

    Corolla abuse threshold

My 2014 corolla has 53,000 miles and I tend to floor my car a lot. I do full synthetic oil changes every 3 to 5 thousand miles. Am I hurting the engine if my car hits 6k rpm a lot? I also wait for it to be at normal operating temperature before flooring it.

I've only done 16k in 6 months, but the car is at 50. https://copy.com/oPhYV7k0botnyCIP

    CVT Maintenance

Finally heard back from my local Toyota dealer, they too said every 100K. And I've only done 16K miles in the 6 months. :P I bought it as a CPO.

The heat in the Prius for me was terrible. If you're on the highway, its fine, but around town, the engine would shut off at the first possible chance that it could safely do so. So while the engine may be warm enough to shut off, it's likely not warm enough to blow hot air. I live in Ohio, and...

Thanks. I've heard a lot of mixed answers too. I'll give a local dealer a call and see what they say.

    CVT Maintenance

I traded in my 2006 Prius for a 2014 Corolla LE in January of this year partly because I was tired of driving with virtually no heat. I have been loving every mile in the Corolla. I'm up to 50K miles and am curious to know how I should maintain the transmission. i.e. When/should I have the...
