How to Clean Headlights That Are Turning Hazy/Off-White?

I cannot tell if the haze is on the outside or the inside of the clear light panel, but I have heard I can use toothpaste to clean. Will this work?

Any advice? If it is on the inside how hard is it to remove/replace the headline cover myself?

Just buy one of the 3M headlight restoration kits. They are cheap and work great. Although, I heard that they can wear off the seal of your headlights so they will get yellow and hazey even faster the second time. I just bought new assemblies off ebay. $80 for the pair and boom... brand new look again

I did the Meguiars Cleaning Kit on my 2008 Matrix. They looked awesome ... for about a year ... then back to yellow.

If that happens with my 2014, I'll just replace them.

If you opt for the cleaning kit, make sure it has a power drill attachment and use one. The "drill-less" kits suck and won't do much.
