Tire recommendations?

#1
Hello,

My stock firestone tires (P215/45R17) are starting to wear down on my corolla S and I know they aren't very good. I don't plan on getting another set of them. I'm looking for all-season performance tires and was wondering if any of you would have any good recommendations! I live in Massachusetts, so being able to get around in the snow is a biggie. Thank you in advance for your advice!

Well not sure about the snow, but I had a very good experience with Yokohama C-drive. They are quite and very little wear over 50k kms. after that I sold the car so dont know what happened. Now I went with Toyo for my car and after 30k kms they are like wearing out may be 20k I can get more from these.

I'd consider the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus or the Michelin Premier A/S. If you're specifically looking for winter tires, it depends if you want studless, studdable, or performance

First of all I would be running winter tires if you live in MA. Any place that has winter temps that stay below 45F most of the time as it does in MA while benefit greatly with winter tires. The only thing that touches the ground are your tires and if they don't have traction your brakes and steering input is useless. You could replace your OEM tires with a nice proper size of 225/45R17 as the OEM 215/45R17 is actually a little small for the proper 25" diameter. Every other OEM Corolla tire size is about 25" in diameter. You should get a 2nd set of wheels and use a 195/65R15, 205/55R16 or a 205/50R17 for your winter tires as you want a narrower tire. For the rest of the year get a set of 225/45R17 in a high performance A/S or summer tire. A/S tires are great in 3 seasons but marginal at best in snow and ice. If you value your car, yourself and your passengers then get some winter tires. Do some research on You Tube and you will learn a lot watching what actually happens when using the proper tires for the conditions. I run a set of 205/50R17 Michelin X-Ice 3 winter tires and a set of 225/45R17 Michelin Pilot Super Sport A/S3 tires the other 3 seasons and they stick like glue in the dry and rain.

I'm rollin on Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport's. These are a summer tire but same thing is available in an all season version. I've been very happy with Bridgestone tires.
And they're available at Costco, so they don't cost an arm and a leg!

I've always found that Discount Tire has beaten prices from Costco by a pretty good amount and if you catch on of their sales you can regularly get an additional $160 back in rebates for buying 4 tires.
