Yeah I did they told me they can't really do anything if that problem does not happen on their shop or their lot. Which kind of sucks cause it happens rarely at times

I would find a different dealer. That's a new car and it should not be doing that at all. The door lining is going to have to come off to look at the locking mechanism and why it's not catching. Almost sounds like its slipping.
For sure there is a problem in there, hope you have been able to solve it, but your local dealer or another Toyota rep should fix it under guarantee. Be very persistent!
